Detailed Walk Through of Revised Prototype

Mary Smith is a single mother with three small children who live in a mobile home park near tornado alley in Northern Texas.   Her children, Bobby, Joy, and Susie are under five years old.  One summer day an EAS alert broadcast is sounded, warning of a tornado sighting in the area.  Mary needs to figure out the reason for the alert.  She discovers it is a tornado sighting, so she needs to get her and her young children to the nearest safe location – a tornado shelter – as quickly as possible.  Once there, Mary notifies several of her loved ones that she and her children made it to the tornado shelter.  After the storm and the warning is lifted, Mary and her family go home.  Once there, Mary notifies even more of her loved ones that her family made it safely through the storm.

Mary is not computer savvy and her typing style is hunt-and-peck, but she is very comfortable using mobile applications.  Mary is our average customer and would use the application for its main purposes on a frequent basis, using it more so during the tornado season.  Mary needs a way to be automatically notified of EAS alerts for the area with detailed alert information, safe locations, and a way to quickly and easily let her family know that she is safe during and after a natural disaster.
