In the pursuit of creating PathShadow, a disaster-triggered, automated location tracking application, we conducted user-centered research using a variety of different methodologies we were not only able to gain insight into how our existing functionality proposals ranked with potential real-world users; we were also able to elicit functionalities from them our team had not anticipated.  Task examples were used to further describe potential users and tasks to help determine needed features and functionalities prior to the development of the PathShadow application.
